EPICIRQ on Tour aims to export the Baltic contemporary circus performances to international audiences by offering the opportunity for residencies, performances and touring in the partnering countries. With the showcase event taking place in Tallinn, Estonia, organised by Estonian Contemporary Circus Development Centre, we have 5 international partners: Lithuania - Menu Spaustuve (Arts Printing House), Finland - Poikki Taideyhdistys RY (Salo Circus Festival), Denmark - Dynamo Workspace, Latvia - Sansusi Festival, United Kingdom - Jacksons Lane. The partnering organisations will be on EPICIRQ on Tour selection committee, to choose up to 8 Baltic performances, who will be presenting their work during EPICIRQ showcase in October 2023.
At the showcase, we will have local and international presenters, venue managers, festival organisers and touring agents coming to see the performances for possible future bookings. During EPICIRQ showcase, each partnering organisation will choose one to two performances, to whom they will either offer a residency possibility for further developing the work or a performance possibility for finished full length shows at their event or venue and to be part of the EPICIRQ on Tour project. The Baltic contemporary circus presents something new, unique and unexplored. Internationally we wish to show what the Baltics have to offer - what happens if you give the artists open hands to freely create, discover and push their limits. Through this project, we aim to strengthen the quality and visibility of Baltic contemporary circus locally, regionally and internationally.
We highly believe that the uniqueness of the Baltic circus is something to share with the rest of the world. Our project aims to showcase Baltic productions to established circus-loving audiences in other countries, while also providing a platform for local artists to enhance their artistic careers, visions, and development.
