Workshop led by Gildas Aleksa

Gildas Aleksa (born 1991) is the theatre director and the artistic director of the theatre company “Teatronas”, the contemporary circus festival “Cirkuliacija” and the first contemporary circus centre in Lithuania, “Cirko Sapiens”. He holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in directing from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre.

To implement his creative ideas, he uses the “Devising & Positioning” method, which is based on improvisation, documentary and comic approaches to serious social problems. The director relies on collective creation principles and shares his experience in theatre workshops and educational activities: in 2011-2012 he conducted classes for children with special needs at Emilija Pliaterytė Progymnasium, he also works as a teacher at the theatre school “Mano Teatras”, and etc.

For a while, G. Aleksa lived in Israeli, later – in Kaunas. In 2019 he received the title of “The Most Memorable Kaunas Artist” for his activeness and encouragement of the societies. Gildas currently resides in Vilnius.
