3rd of March | dance performance Chimera’s Beads
Aira Naginevičiūtė’s latest contemporary dance production features five women dancers of different ages and experiences. The five women embody powerful feminine archetypes related to a mythical monstrous creature. The fire-breathing female creature is unpredictable; it can be dangerous, tender, loving or motherly.
5th of March | spatial mono opera in the dark Confessions
The seven parts of the “Confessions” are concerned with the seven cardinal sins – lust, gluttony, greed, sloth, wrath, envy, pride. The intuitive relationship that appeared between the creators from the beginning of the collaboration is transferred to the opera at a musical level.
10th of March | concert by Demdike Stare
Demdike Stare is a dark ambient and electronic music duo formed by DJ Sean Canty and producer Miles Whittaker. Miles is probably better known as Modern Love's DJ MLZ or as 0.5 of Pendle Coven. Sean Canty is the dedicated digger behind the Haxan events and a member of the hugely respected Finders Keepers crew of vinyl vultures.
March for babies on the 19th, 20th and 21st of March
Dansema dance theatre presents two popular performances for babies (specially created for children under 3 years) „Puzzle“ and „Colourful Games“.
Choreographer Birutė Banevičiūtė and dancer Giedrė Subotinaite also invites children and parents for the dance class on the „Monday for babies“ . During the activities adults will find out how babies understand dance and how their express their understanding. For parents who care to nurture their children it is important to learn to notice their reactions as well as to wait for their answers which might be not verbal, but kinesthetic.
22nd of March | acoustic concert by Kazimieras Likša and string quartet
Before the album kicks in K. Likša wants to invite all of his listeners to especially warm and cosy acoustic concert. Vocal will be accompanied by a string quartet and a piano creating extraordinary atmosphere.
24th of March | dance performance Blid Spot
Choreographer Vytis Jankauskas and dancers (Rūta Butkus and Giedrė Kirkilytė) are asking how often do we create such spots that in turn form our view and understanding of the reality, where we only see what we want to, and the aspects of life that are unwanted are eliminated from our vision. As well as how such own-created images of the world influence us and our relation to each other.
25th of March | dance performance Reconstruct
Dance piece created by young Lithuanian choreographer Miglė Praniauskaitė talks about previous world order, which gradually goes out of tune, distracts and takes the attention away from the individual by focusing on today’s mechanical lifestyle. The performance outstands from others with rythmical music and energetic choeography.
