Artistic Director Audra Žukaitytė: “Sirenos” invite to feel a challenging experience

"We dedicate our tenth anniversary festival to our faithful spectators, who have stuck with us through thick and thin. The spectators of “Sirenos” do not have a traditional passive relation with the theatre, and are co-authors of what is taking place on stage. It does not matter how old they are, what they do, what clothes or hairstyle they wear, and if they bring any flowers. The most important thing is that they come ready for challenges. Our spectators realize that they will not be left to relax in their seats – they come ready for interaction both during the shows and at post-show discussions.

Contemporary circus festival in Vilnius announces: Circus is not for children!

Circus is not for children

Arts Printing House in Vilnius presents International contemporary circus festival – “New Circus Weekend”, which will occupy the city of Vilnius on the 3rd to the 9th of September. Circus is coming to town, but this circus is not for children!

The annual event for modern circus will present performances which demonstrates that circus can contain both states of being sombre and jolly, deep corners of unconsciousness and humour, capability to visualize, musical perceptiveness, enough of space and intimacy. There will be jugglery, plastic acrobatics and combinations of visual arts. The contemporary circus can be varied, not a mere shallow show without any artistic ambitions.
